Treasure Chest casino opens again Monday

Today, Boyd Gaming Corp., revealed that it is planning to open its Treasure Chest Casino in Kenner, Louisiana on Monday. The New Orleans area casino will Open at 12PM on the 10th.

Shortly after Hurricane Katrina, the casino company reported that the property only sustained minor damages. Due to inhabitable conditions in the area, the casino had to wait to reopen.

As the stricken area starts its road to recovery, employees are anxious to get back into the swing of things by working again. The local economy and the lives of the people in the area must get on with it and rebuild.

Additionally, Delta Downs was damaged by Hurricane Rita. Boyd Gaming is working swiftly to repair the casino to at least reopen part of the property's operations prior before December.

The Treasure Chest casino closed on August 27 in preparation for the hurricane and Delta Downs, near Lake Charles, Louisiana, closed on September 22 from damage sustained from Hurricane Rita.

Also, Sam's Town Shreveport, was impacted by the effects of both storms.
